Magpie Nest is looking for an Audit & Accounts professional to join our team. Operating from our Dhaka HQ, you will be a key player in managing and auditing the financial operations of our diverse UK-based ventures. Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Financial Accounting: Manage the accounts of multiple UK ventures, ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with UK GAAP (FRS 102/105).
- Rigorous Internal Audit: Conduct periodic internal audits across ventures to ensure financial discipline, identify "leakages," and verify the authenticity of all expense claims and vendor payments.
- Statutory Audit Management: Lead the "Year-End Audit File" preparation. You will be responsible for creating lead schedules, fixed asset registers, and working papers to be handed over to external UK auditors.
- Inter-company & Multi-currency Reconciliation: Manage complex monthly reconciliations for inter-company loans and transactions across UK, USA, and BD entities, ensuring balance sheet integrity.
- Management Reporting & Variance Analysis: Prepare monthly Management Accounts with detailed commentary on Budget vs. Actual variances to help the Group CEO identify operational risks.
- Process Engineering: Identify manual bottlenecks in our current Google Sheets setup and design automated workflows or "killer" sheets to improve data accuracy and speed.
Technical Necessities:
- Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Accounting or Finance (ACCA/CA/CIMA part-qualified preferred).
- Experience: 2-3 years in audit and accounts; direct experience with UK accounting standards (FRS) is a major advantage.
- Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel for complex data reconciliation.
- Language: Professional-level English communication skills (written and verbal) for interacting with UK-based stakeholders.
- Analytical Skill: Strong ability to spot trends, anomalies, and errors within large datasets.
Remuneration & Benefits:
- Gross Salary: BDT 40,000 to BDT 60,000 per month (Negotiable based on relevant experience).
- Weekends: Saturday & Sunday.
